Overview

This year the results of the Presidential election will seem to bring huge changes to the lives of many immigrants. President Obama and Democratic leaders in Congress advocate for some significant changes. For a fee, an illegal immigrant will be able to become a citizen. Children of illegal immigrants will have an opportunity to become residents once they attend college or serve in US Military. On the other hand, most Republicans are against this immigration reform. They are working hard to convince voters that these changes will not be a good path for United States, but will actually harm our country by encouraging more people to enter the US unlawfully. In fact, the Latino vote was attributed as a key demographic that helped in Barack Obama's victory in 2008. With the growing numbers of Latinos, especially in battle ground states like Indiana and Ohio, it will be equally important for both Democrats and Republicans to sway the influence of this very important compensation.
